What Customers Say About Patriots: Surviving the Coming Collapse: A Novel of the Turbulent Near Future (Expanded and Updated 33 Chapter Edition):

The good guys are primarily conservatives and Christian. The story is very good and the knowledge to be gained is great. This is a combination of extreme survivalists fantasy novel and a how to manual. The book is very entertaining and I had a hard time putting it down. I laughed out loud at the stereotyping in the story. The bad guys are liberals or worse yet communist who just happen to be cannibal looters. If you're reading this review then just buy the book and read it. If you have already read this book then I would recommend you also read "One Second After."One Second After

Not a bad book. The characterization was a bit lacking but overall a good read. Most of the survival points are for folks that are very serious bout being preppers. The amount of money the "group" spent to have their supplies would be more than most folks make in two years.

A very good way to explain various dangers with the characters overcoming all the obstacles they meet. The book will give you many good ideas to make you better prepaired for about anything.

Everything happens perfectly and that is why I gave it four stars. The characters have everything, they do everything right, and thought of everything before "the crash".

Yeah, this book is a little TOO SPECTACULAR. It gives the reader a good explanation of everything you could want to prepair and what could be done with those items.

I would say it is a little to fantastic or fictional, but we do want the good guy to win. These good guys prepaired, so they win.

The characters work together to use everything they have aquired, showing you what you could do in various situations if you make preperations now. A good book to give someone that thinks nothing bad could ever happen to America.

So if you have some time to kill, get this book from your public library so as not to enrich Mr. I thought that I had hit that point when the survivalist cadre discovers that the the very bad young men that they encounter are "Communists" (they discover that they are carrying around copies of Chairman Mao's Little Red Book, like were can you find a copy of the Little Red Book these days)., but I digress, these "Communists" are actually cannibals who are eating children's arms and legs and are then dispatched by the avenging Christianist survivalist in a burst of automatic weapons fire. This exercise in survivalist paranoia is just so unintentionally hilarious that I really could not stop reading it to see where the story line would fall off the edge of the lunatic fringe into the rantings of the truly deranged. Rawles, settle in with a few joints or a six pack, and prepare to be ready to laugh your ass off. And from there, the plot just gets funnier, and funnier, and funnier as the Idaho based survivalist cadre encounters increasing hosts of homicidal biker rapists, crazed looters, and UN based enemies who are intent on conquering God's righteous survivors who live their Christian lives focused on a culture of death and mayhem (the way that Jesus taught us to live). Besides being the most unintentionally hilarious work since "The Postman" or even "Springtime for Hitler", this book has the rare quality of making the characterizations in a Tom Clancy novel look like something from Henry James. While as a literary effort, I regret that the rating system cannot give this work 0 stars, it really is a hoot to read. I cannot wait for the movie, (calling Steven Segal, anyone).

I know that I am not going to go out and buy a M1A1, and an AR-15, and a M4 style, and (list goes on and on) because I have a family and you can't eat bullets BEFORE the collapse happens.Again, good read once you get use to the style and it helps with your mindset. I understand that the author probably does not want to offend some of his readers, but come on.

I will not lie, the first few chapters took some getting use to because of the author's style of writing. Here is the plus: In my mind, this book let you know how unprepared you probably are. This book was recommended to me by a buddy of mine and I picked it up based on only that.

From the novel stand point, the whole "golly-gee-wittikers" talk got a bit annoying. By this I mean that most people do not have adequate protection or supplies to sustain them for a long period of time.

The good news is that you can get prepared as this book gives you a general list of what a person should think about, and it goes into depth on where you can find them.Downside: Ok, if the end of the world has happened.I probably would be a bit more graphic with my language. Another issue is that some of the items in the book, assuming that you are reading it as a manual, are pricey to purchase.

I would recommend it.
